Bowen Island

Bowen Island has a population of 3,000 permanent residents and an additional 1,500 who spend their summers there.

It is located 12 miles North West of Vancouver and 15 minutes by ferry from Horseshoe Bay West Vancouver.

The island has many beaches, lakes and forests offering residents beautiful hiking trails. Crippen Park features picnic areas, kayaking, fishing and other facilities.

The Island Community School is situated close to Snug Cove and offers a learning environment for Kindergarten to Grade 7. The school also offers Continuing Education Courses and an Adult Learning Centre to community members of all ages. Students from grade 8 to grade 12 have to travel to West Vancouver schools. There is an independent school on the island that offers grade 7 - grade 9.

The Island has a number of different stores, a library, a hairdresser, pubs and restaurants. The cost of housing on the Island is at the higher end of the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
